For the past couple of days the weather has been mild and sunny, so I’ve been making the most of it and tidying the garden ready for the season ahead…
- Weeding the borders ready for mulching
- Pruning roses and figs
- Clearing moss
- Washing down the greenhouse
It’s truly wonderful to be back out in the garden, it’s my haven.
Over winter there is little to do in terms of proper gardening so it’s a treat to be back out there. With the days mild and getting longer it feels like there is so much more time to get things done.
On our last dog walk of the day we saw a beautifully moody sunset and the ridgeback also found the farm find of the day…
…an antler.
Needless to say the dog who found it was pretty reluctant to let it go.
It’s been lost naturally by the deer, and I think it is from a roe deer. Currently there is a herd of roe deer roaming around the area so I think it’s probably from one of those.
I thought maybe it could be fashioned into a walking stick top of some kind of jewellery stand, what do you think?
Apologies for the state of my hands. As soon as I get back into the garden this is generally how they look until the onset of winter again.
This surely has to be incorporated into something. Maybe also a new piece of your wonderful artwork. Pair it with something modern to give it a bit of a twist.
Watch this space Stefan! I hope to get something made this weekend…
